Bulma, an intelligent but foolhardy girl, meets Goku, a young boy with a monkey tail living in the woods.  Together, they set out to find the powerful Dragonballs, which are said to have the power to grant anyone a single wish.  On the way, they meet friends, enemies, and have one whale of a time.

Review: I saw DB-Z before I saw Dragonball so seeing how everyone first met was a real treat for me.  It was a little too slapstick at times but they developed the characters really well.

Action Level: 4/5
It may come across as light-hearted, but when they cut into the action scenes, they spare no expense.

Romance Level: 3/5
Bulma and Yamcha's relationship started out good, but Bulma seemed to get a little too possessive.  One relationship I thought they could've expanded on was the one between Launch and Tienshinhan.

Comedy Level: 4/5
The action and comedy are neck-and-neck.

Adult Level: 3/5
They show naked children, but not their privates.

Drama Level: 2/5
I guess they were reserving the drama for DB-Z.

Overall Level: 3/5
Very funny, very intense as well.  I don't think you'll fully understand DB-Z until you see Dragonball.
