It is the year 223 of the Universal Century.  The Earth Federation has been replaced with the Congress of Settlement Nations (CONSENT) and the Earth's suffering from a food shortige.  But, this is Gundam, so that means that CONSENT is evil and planning the downfall of human society as we know it.  Former CONSENT Mobile Suit pilot Mark Curran is reluctantly recruited into a rebel faction to pilot the latest MS, the G-Saviour.  It's Gundam... for real!

Review: I know this is live-action and not animated but it's Gundam so I'll make an exception.  I loved the special effects, especially the Mobile Suit battles.  The tones are dark and almost sinister which is a good touch.  However, the plot wasn't as good as the original or 0080 or even Gundam Wing.  It was shallow, too much stuff went unanswered and the characters were watered down.  It should've just stuck with the animation.

Action Level: 5/5
Great CG Mobile Suit battles.

Romance Level: 3/5
From the moment Mark met Cynthia, I could tell it was love at first sight.  As for Mark's fiancee, well... she reminds me of Miss Piggy.  Not in her looks, but in her possessive attitude regarding Mark.

Comedy Level: 1/5
There were some good lines but that was it.

Adult Level: 2/5
Futuristic danger.

Drama Level: 2/5
Not exactly Tomino material.  If they ever made a Hollywood blockbuster about Gundam, it would probably go something like this.

Overall Level: 2/5
You can check it out if you want, but don't expect anything good.
